Information for professionals
One or more sessions with Shine may be what you need to get your client moving again!
Because of the experiential nature of the work, your client will be using different internal resources to approach issues and problems they might be experiencing.
We all know the benefits of learning through doing, and with the horses as our allies in the treatment process – they are able to give honest and immediate feedback to your clients – where you may not have been able to.
Also, when we are working with a client in an office we rely heavily on a client’s ability to honestly and accurately self-report – on what they have been experiencing, what they have been doing to address the issue, what has worked and what hasn’t.
In a Shine session – you can see what happens for the client in certain situations – you can see their responses, their capacity to process situations, for problem solving and communication etc.
A session with Shine may just what is needed to make the shift you have been waiting for with your client.

Could EAP or EAL assist one of your clients?
- Do you have a client who does not appear to be responding to traditional, office based counselling?
- Have you been working with a client for a long time, with little progress made?
- Are you case managing a challenging adolescent who doesn’t want to go to traditional counselling even though the need is apparent in lots of his/her behaviours and choices?
- Are you worried about a child who you are teaching, who appears disengaged and not wanting to learn?
- Do you teach a child at your school who is already disengaged, and not attending?
- Are you working with a child with special needs who you think could benefit from spending time with a horse?
